Thala-source® thermal retreat: your confidential moment for rejuvenation in the heart of the Auvergne Volcanoes
Greetings from unique volcanic France… AUVERGNE!
Far from crowded destinations, here is our confidential offer, a true promise of escape. It’s called thala-source® thermal retreat, a wellness experience created by and for the Spa boréal at “instants d’Absolu” – Ecolodge & Spa. Our repeating guests find it ideal for recharging your batteries during the indian summer months or treating yourselves to a serene bubble this winter.
A LODGE FOR THE SOUL ON CANTAL HIGHLANDS
Because everyone needs time to (re)find inspiration and restore their energy, “instants d’Absolu” Ecolodge & Spa was created on the peaceful shores of Lac du Pêcher.
Nestled in the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Natural Park, the ecolodge is the perfect place to disconnect from civilization and technology. Indeed, this small, 12-room family home offers all the attention you could wish for. Here, there is no waiting room, but individualized treatments for couples.
To help you gain the necessary perspective, we offer a comprehensive wellness program designed to reconnect you with your inner nature. In fact, a great moment immersed in the magic and poetry of this land of great outdoors.

Thala-source® thermal retreat, thalasso MADE IN AUVERGNE !
Are you looking for more than just a Spa or a classic massage? Then, head for the thala-source® on a thermal retreat!
Born from a play on words that pays homage to thalassotherapy (a favorite among our guests), thala-source® has gone a step further. It adds a direct connection to Nature and the unique energy of our volcanic land to the art of wellness.
Since 2017, thala-source® has offered a unique experience of regeneration that combines classic body care with energetic well-being, on a thermal retreat.
The Secret of Volcanic Clay and Natural Rituals
Here, we don’t use sea water, but our mineral spring water and the power of volcanic elements:
- Volcanic Sand Scrubs.
- Wraps based on a natural mixture of clay and volcanic silt.

PURE RELAXATION: THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH BATH AND THE BOREAL SPA
On a whole morning, the Spa Boréal opens its doors—whether you are staying with us or just visiting for a treatment (by previous reservation):
- The Bain de Jouvence (Fountain of Youth Bath), a unique bath offering a moment of pure comfort with a breathtaking view of the lake.
- The Wooden Steam Bath, perfect as an individual cabin to savor the benefits of solitude. It is clearly part of the thala-source® experience before a scrub or wrap (one service per session).
- Energetic Massages to align and restore your fundamental and natural well-being.
- Lunch ending this morning of wellness is focused on vitality, based on a vegetable juice. It goes with compote, dried fruits, herbal tea, and naturally sparkling Saint Géron water from the Cézallier. The intention: a light lunch that doesn’t sap your energy. On the contrary, it encourages you to go and explore these high lands afterwards.

Well, Thala-source® promises you a unique experience on this mid-mountain plateau, where isolation is the key to relaxation.

From English guests with love!
… on Tripadvisor: ” We have just spent two days at this Eco lodge having enjoyed the setting, accomodation and food. All these treats were enhanced by hosts Daniel and Laurence who made us most welcome. Driving along the lake to discover this exception Lodge sitting alone and perfectly in its setting was a joy as we didn’t know what to expect. This couple have decorated the place in a sensitive and tasteful way using local craftsmen. The food was a treat as was the wine list and our breakfast buffet offering all you could want. We explored the area by foot discovering flora and fauna along the trails. How lucky were we to have found such an unusual and beautiful part of France. Grey stone with red woodwork set in a rural setting with fields of wildfloweres what more could you want. We highly recommend that travellers venture to this region and particularly this Lodge.”
